"Insurgent" schließt nahtlos dort an, wo "Divergent" aufgehört hat. Nachdem Tris und Tobias die tödliche Simulation stoppen konnten, sind sie auf dem Weg zu dem Amity um sich über das Schicksal ihrer Freunde, Familien und Fraktionskollegen Klarheit zu verschaffen und über ihr weiteres Vorgehen Entscheidungen zu treffen. Da die Erudite immer noch auf Kriegspfad sind, kommt es im Laufe des Buches auch zu mehreren Konflikten. Kurz sieht es auch so aus, als ob es für Tris keinen Ausweg mehr gibt, aber Veronica Roth schafft es, den Leser zu überraschen.

Obwohl diese Fortsetzung fast noch spannender als der erste Band war, finde ich, dass es manchmal fast zu schnell ging. Einige Entwicklungen konnte ich mit meiner Logik nicht ganz nachvollziehen, aber man wird einfach mitgerissen.

Das Ende öffnet die Türe zu dem großen Geheimnis, was außerhalb des Zaunes existiert, verrät aber nur so viel, dass ich extrem neugierig geworden bin, wie die Geschichte weitergeht. Darauf muss ich aber leider noch bis Herbst 2013 warten.

Altough I´m greatful that I got the books a few days earlier...most realistically due to a computer mistake I seriously annoyed that I didn´t got the Harper Collins USA Edition...it just looks horribly in my bookshelf as the International Edition is slightly smaller and bigger :(. For some people it might not ne important but I do hate it when a series doesn´t look alike.
To the plot: Insurgent starts right where Divergent stoped, in the train to Amity. Mrs Roth took a path in my opinion influenced by Suzanne Collins Hunger Games Series. Tris is going through a lot after shooting one of her best friends Will and her parents dead. Additionaly the relationship to Tobias in on the verge as both charakters are keeping secrets from one another. It goes to the point at which Tris gets a death which as she can´t face the guilt and grief she provoked and has to endure. Tobias is because of hurt feelings from both sides not really able to help her.
It would take an eternity to explain what is going on in book 2...let´s just say: secrets, secrets and more secrets going hand in hand with betrayla and manipulation. It is a feast. Altouh I missed the special relationship Tris and Tobias are having for the mayority of the book it is defnitly not lost. And at soem parts it is as heart warming- true love celebrating as it can get.
Those who liked Divergent will not be upset by book 2. Altough all the "outisde the fence" got mysterious to a point where I thought come please don´t write something about aliens...and she didn´t maybe it was just me looking to muc Sci Fi and having seen Monsters. I´m looking foward to book number three and secretly hope Mrs Roth is writing a fourt book...would only be logical as there are 4 factions. Have fun reading it is a great book!
